Privacy policy
We use contact-form information to answer messages and Google Analytics to understand visits and page interactions. Microsoft Clarity is paused while its consent and privacy settings are checked. This policy explains the information involved and how to contact us about it.

Who we are
Hearing Aids Index is an independent publishing website. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit this site or send us a message. For privacy questions or a request about a message you sent, use our contact form.
Contact messages
If you send our contact form, we store your name, email address, the reason you selected, your message, its date and time, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use that information to read and answer your message and to maintain a record of reported errors and corrections.
Our hosting, database and email service providers, including Resend for email delivery, may process information needed to operate the site and handle messages.
We do not add you to a mailing list or sell your contact details. We do not send your message to a hearing-aid brand. Please do not send medical records, test results, payment details or other sensitive information. We cannot provide personal medical advice through the form.
Site operation and contact events
When you follow a brand or model link, our own event system can record the event type, brand or model, link placement, page path and time. When you use the sticky comparison link, it can record the event type, placement, page path and time. When a valid contact message is saved, it can record the selected reason, page path and time. Event records do not include the message, name, email address or IP address. The current event handler does not record Cost to Try selector choices; older event records, if any, are subject to the retention statement below. Event records are separate from the contact message itself.
Hosting and network providers process connection information, including IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. A field being absent from our event database does not mean that no service provider processes it.
The current buying guides publish Cost to Try examples based on sellers’ terms. The model selector only shows a precomputed example; your selection stays in your browser and is not sent to our server or analytics. The Fit Check is a reading checklist. These pages do not ask you to submit personalized calculator inputs or hearing symptoms. Google Analytics may collect information about page visits and interactions as described below. Microsoft Clarity is currently paused while we verify its account-side consent and masking configuration.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and traffic sources. Google receives information about visits, such as the page address, referrer, browser and device information, and interactions collected by its tag. Google Analytics can use first-party cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Its handling of information is described in Google’s explanation of partner-site data and Google’s privacy policy.
Microsoft Clarity (paused)
Microsoft Clarity is not currently loading on this site while we verify its account-side consent and masking configuration. If we enable it after that review, we will update this policy to describe its data collection and controls.
Browser storage and controls
Google Analytics may use cookies and other browser storage as described above. Cookie behavior can depend on your browser settings and the service’s configuration.
You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser’s settings. Blocking analytics or cookies may limit measurement; it does not prevent you from reading our buying guides. Browser controls affect that browser and device and do not delete a contact message already submitted to us.
The sticky comparison bar stores whether you dismissed it in session storage until you close the tab. The Cost to Try model selector uses page state only; it does not save your choice.
Affiliate and other external links
Links to hearing-aid makers and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. An affiliate network or merchant may use link information and cookies to attribute a purchase after you follow an affiliate link. Our affiliate disclosure shows which programs are active.
How long information is kept
Contact messages are kept while needed to answer the request and maintain a record of corrections. Our event database stores the individual event records described above, from which counts can be produced; we do not currently apply an automatic deletion schedule to those event records. Google retains analytics information under its service settings and policies. Microsoft Clarity is currently paused.
To ask us to delete a contact message you sent, use the contact form and identify the email address and approximate date of the earlier message. We may need to verify that the request concerns your own information. Deleting a message does not remove a correction note from a published page; correction notes should not identify the person who reported the issue without permission.
Children
This site is intended for adults researching hearing aids. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us.
